Refund

I filed my taxes in March of 2021 for 2020.  My sole means of income was 30K in UI Benefits that I did pay taxes on.  Then came the Tax Credit meaning that I should have only paid taxes on 10,200.   Will I get the additional taxes I paid back as a refund?   Is there anything else I need to do on my end with the IRS?  Or, will this happen automatically?

Actually the 10,200 is NOT taxed.   The rest of it will be taxed.

If you filed early before the exclusion, the IRS will recalculate your return for the new 10,200 unemployment exemption for you. There is no need for taxpayers to file an amended return unless the calculations make the taxpayer newly eligible for additional federal credits and deductions not already included on the original tax return.
