Refund question

I filed my return on March 17th and I received my refund in my bank account, but it says on the IRS website that it has still yet to process. I’m getting confused and worried now. What could be going on?

Are you checking the IRS Where's My Refund? site.  If you requested a Refund Advance when you filed, you could get your refund before the IRS is done processing your return.

Here's more info on the Refund Advance Program.

If you can give more details, we'll try to help.

I don’t remember to be honest. For the first time this year I went to a person to person tax filing. I got my refund two weeks after filing.

If the IRS still says it's processing, is it possible what you received was your state refund?

Yes it was my state. I didn’t have any federal taken out of my checks because of my income being low of 7k during 2024. And didn’t owe any money on my taxes for federal. Could that be the reason why?

Generally, the maximum amount of your refund is the amount you paid in unless you qualify for refundable credits such as Earned Income Credit, Additional Child Tax Credit, or American Opportunity Tax Credit. You state that you did not have any federal amounts withheld. Did you qualify for one of these credits and were you expecting a refund?

TurboTax does not receive updates on refund status. Per the IRS website, Where's My Refund has the latest information on your return. If you don't have internet, call the automated refund hotline at 800-829-1954 for a current-year refund or 866-464-2050 for an amended return.
