It's a pleasure to assist you with information about tax refunds. Tax refunds will continue to go out until they are all processed by the IRS. The IRS is continuing to correct and process returns and as with any other employer, there is a shortage of workers with Covid still affecting everyone. As some taxpayers from 2019 still receiving refunds I would expect taxpayers with 2020 refunds to still process in 2022.
I would hope most taxpayers would receive their refunds by the end of 2021. Everyone will receive their correct refund.
