Re-accessing irs.gov

I used to be able to log on to irs.gov.

Now, as I go through the log on process, it asks me to validate with providing info from either a home mortgage info, credit card number, or some other things.

I used the last 8 of my credit card, but it does not take it. I called the IRS and when I got through, they did not have a solution.

Anyone run into this or know how to log back in to the site?

You are describing the verification process that the IRS uses to confirm your identity, like when you try to log in to get your transcript.

The IRS presents you some information supposedly from your credit report and asks you to confirm what is correct. Sometimes it happens that what is on your credit report is a surprise to you because it is reported in a different way than you remember.

"they did not have a solution. " - A solution for what?

We have nothing to do with the IRS.GOV website, so you have to deal with them.

What are you trying to do?

They did not have a solution, nor anyone to refer to if one cannot log in after doing so previously.

I have tried another way and looks like I might be able to get back in.
