Qualified Disaster Distribution

I have distributions from my IRA due to two qualified disasters in 2023; however, Turbotax online only lets me identify one qualified disaster for the 1099-R associated with this IRA. How do I add the second qualified disaster in Turbotax?

It depends.

Was the IRA distribution reported on one 1099-R or on separate 1099-R forms?

If it was only on one 1099-R, you would only be able to designate one FEMA disaster zone on the screen titled "Which disaster affected...in 2023?".

The next screen will ask you "How many disaster distributions did you take in 2023?".  You can enter the number of distributions taken on this.

If the distribution was reported on different 1099-R forms, you will be able to specify the type of disaster it was on the input screens for each 1099-R form you report.
