The amended returns for prior years can be completed using the instructions below. Be sure to read all the instructions carefully, before you begin, so that TurboTax knows the original numbers and the changed numbers for your amendment. Your state return can be amended at the same time.
Once you know the amount of carryover for 2025, you do not have to wait to file your 2025 tax return until the amended returns have been processed. You can file the 2025 tax return when it's ready to go.
