Override function not workin on 1040 form

I am trying to do some what-if analysis and need to plug some numbers into the 1040 form.   I went to forms as instructed. I right click on field and select 'override' and nothing happens and I cannot enter data.  CNTL+ also does not work. Trying to manually override in 2a, 2b, 3a, 3b on 1040.  Override function does not seem to be working as advertised.   (Note I know I cannot file with O/R and not trying to).

Thanks

A second option I have used to see how next years taxes might be different for next year is just make a copy under special name like guess2021 and change whatever you like as often as you like. You can come back to it during the year and tweak it based on your new information. I suppose you could use the same method to try various filing status like married separate vs married joint.

Thanks Ira,  That is exactly what I had been doing but one of my iterations was going to require a lot of re-entry of data, so I was hoping to use the override..... in the end I did the hard work of re-data entry.
