My 1040 was accepted on February 8th. I need to verify my ID but all IRS Offices within a 100-mile radius are booked for the next 90 days and I have been unable to make an appointment. Is there another option to verify my ID. On-line and phone are unavailable.

There are option available online to verify your identity with ID.me and the IRS. Taxpayers will be asked to sign in with an ID.me account. If they already have IRS usernames, they can use their credentials from the old system to sign-in until summer 2022. However, they should create an ID.me account as soon as possible. Anyone with an existing ID.me account from the Child Tax Credit Update Portal, or from another government agency, can sign in with their existing credentials.
