As of the second half of 2023, NY state taxes are broken down in between a fixed amount and a variable amount depending on the cap of the salary. Does that cap include any variable bonuses? I.e. If I make x amount of money as a base salary and then receive y amount of money at the end of the year, will my NY taxes be based off my total compensation (x + y) or only on the base salary? (Asking since that would put me in a different tax bracket).
