NY Amended Return Cannot be E-filed using Turbotax Desktop

Hello. I used Turbox Desktop to file both federal and NY-amended returns of 2022. I have successfully filed the federal one by mailing the amended return. However, there was no response when I was trying to continue to e-file my NY amended return. Please see the picture below. After clicking "Continue" in the first interface, there was no response after clicking "Continue" in the second interface. I could not be directed to the NY e-file page. Does anyone know what to do?

You need to print your return in order to click the continue button and file the New York return.  Just save the pdf that the system generates.

Thank you so much for your reply! However, it still doesn't work. There was no response when I clicked the continue button on the next page. I could not find a way to e-file my NY amended return.

I am in the same exact boat. Hoping to find answers.

For me, when I click print its only the Federal amended, so even if NY would allow a printed copy, I cant get one from the desktop site.

If you are having issues e-filing your prior year state amended return, you will need to mail it in.  In the screenshot provided above, are you able to select Print return under step 2?

If you are not able to select print either, I recommend updating your software.  This can be done by logging into your desktop product.  Select Online in the menu on the top, and then select Check for Updates.

Then, log back in and try to e-file your New York return again.  If you are still having issues, you will need to print and mail the New York amended return in.

@JotikaT2 Thank you so much for your reply! The order of the screenshots was actually reversed, and now I rearranged them. I can print the federal return from the first screenshot. However, after clicking the continue button to file for e-return, I did not receive a response when I clicked the continue button in the second screenshot. As @renfrewb mentioned, even if I clicked the print option in the second screenshot, there was no NY return option for printing, only a federal return was presented. By the way, my software is up-to-date.

No, sadly, still waiting.  Amazing nobody from Turbo Tax can comment and help us.

Looks like NY may have closed its 2021 efile window, which may explain the glitch. I am going to mail my amendment today, which I believe may be the deadline.

Are you using the online version or the desktop version?  Which operating system are you using?

Are you able to save as a pdf file?  If you can save as a pdf, then you can print from there.  In general, a separate pop up will appear when you go to print.  Be sure it is not covered up under other tabs.

Did you follow the instructions from Jotika above? She is from TurboTax.

Yes, I followed the instructions from Jotika.

Using windows OS with up to date desktop version.

So far, the traditional method still hasnt worked for me, but I did find a workaround to manually print the NY IT201X which I am then going to mail.

I clicked on "forms" in the upper right hand side (next to "flags") there, I was able to view, download, and print the completed NY Amended. Hope this works for
