What was the exact error message or code ?    If you jump to a different company you may have the same issue.

It was a silly error, it asked for my PIN and I guessed it incorrectly

An IRS issued IP PIN   or the prior year self selected PIN ?   If the latter you can use your AGI instead.

If you leave and go somewhere else you don't have to pay the Turbo Tax fees.  If you don't file with Turbo Tax they won't take the fees out of any refunds.

Correct, it was a self selected pin and I used my agi instead.. I'm just wondering if I owe turbotax money for selecting their paid version but then switching to a different website.. because they were going to take it out of my tax refund

I did file but it got rejected. Does that matter if I switch after that?

If it was rejected then it wasn't filed.  You can switch anytime before it is filed and ACCEPTED.

Okay, thank you so much! I'm sure it was a silly question
