NOTE TO IRS CONCERNING THE ADDITION OF CPP AND SSA

HOW CAN I ADD A NOTE TO THE IRS THAT MY SS INCLUDES CPP (Canadian Pension Plan).  I have been doing this for years and now I can't add a note.

If you are using a Desktop version of TurboTax, you can enter details about any line item such as your Social Security from Forms Mode.

  1. Click Forms at the top to switch to Forms Mode
  2. Select "Social Sec" from the list of forms on the left
  3. Click the "+" next to the box where your Social Security amount appears.
  4. A Supporting Details screen will pop up where you can indicate that the amount includes CCP and the amount.

This Supporting Details worksheet will be available with your return as a worksheet unless you check the box choosing NOT to print it.

This feature is not available in TurboTax Online. If you wanted to include a printed explanation with your return, you would need to print and mail the return.

This helped, although there was no + to click on. I just double clicked on the total and the message box opened.
