Not transmitting

Turbo Tax will not transmit my return, says I need to update it.  I updated it, but it will still not transmit my return.  What is up with this???

I am experiencing the same issue, same day.  Posting here to add to support request for help.

TurboTax2019 will not allow for me to transmit my return.  Says I need to update the software, I follow the instructions, click Online, software responds back that I have the latest software.  Click Transmit Your Return and right back into the loop of saying I need to update my software but TurboTax telling my I'm up to date.  How do I get the software to allow me to Transmit My Return and not get blocked with software update request (when the same software says I'm up to date).

Same thing with me. Others with the same problem state that Turbo Tax knows about the issue and will send them an update. I called support asking for the update and was told I had to call their tech team, who only works Monday through Friday! If they know there is a bug and they have the fix why the heck can't they put in on their stupid updates that everyone can download without having to go through this nonsense!

I have the same issue (2/15/20). I am in CA and the link for the work around appears to be for different states. Any updates or patches for this?

The uninstall/reinstall option worked and allowed me to transmit the e-file. Thank you.

The file download to manually delete the state then re-open to have it update again did not work for me.

I ran the process from the other users links to delete the state and reinstall, but still getting this error.

I deleted and reinstalled TurboTax, but still no luck.

Finally, contacted support and the manual update link below solved the problem.

I had the same issue and this manual update worked for me on the first try. I closed TT - installed the 184 MB update file located at the link below.

I then retarted TT and tried filing again. It worked first time for both federal and state tax returns. I am using 2019 Premier software - Individual return. Windows 10.

I am getting the same error.  Everything is ready to go.  Get the update error.  Update and retry and the same error.  Tried rebooting and tried my old Windows 7 machine and a newer Windows 10 machine.

Wow!  That was super crazy and frustrating!  I've been using other software to file my taxes for years and decided to give TurboTax a try this year.  This was not a great first impression.  TurboTax did a great job walking me through doing my taxes.  I loved that experience.  But trying to transmit my taxes was way more hard and stressful than it should've been.

This for your link as that helped and worked for me!

@afds10africa Refer to the following TurboTax FAQ for step-by-step instructions to resolve this issue:  State Loop indicates TurboTax is "up to date" after updating but won't allow you to Install your state return

I've tried several times to transmit my returns.  It keeps telling me I need to update my version of TurboTax, which I've also done several times today.  It still won't transmit! Can somebody help?

Please click here if you have a Windows PC and please click here if you have a MAC. These links will help with force or manually updating the software. If this does not work, please click here to get in contact with customer care. Tell the agent on the phone that it is a known issue and that the solution is to first push a federal download and then push the state.

Same issue where it is not transmitting while electronically filing.  Loaded the 184MB file to manually load updates and rebooted computer.  No change, still not transmitting!  Already paid for State.

Thank you so much.  I have spent hours trying to efile and your solution worked for me.

I have tried all the updates including the manual update.  I am still unable to transmit my returns.  So what is next?  I already paid my filing fees (state) so I would rather transmit electronically.

You can try clearing the cache on your computer as follows:

https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/troubleshooting/help/how-to-clear-your-cache/00/26135

Also, you can try logging in to TurboTax using a different  web browser.

As a lost resort, you can try logging in on a different computer if you have one available.

i see in this forum that people are giving advice to clean up the software. I don't have the software downloaded into my computer, I'm using the online site, so this does not help me. Still can't  transmit. any other solutions?

@danarainbow For TurboTax Online, clearing the cache and deleting the cookies on your computer can help refresh the settings.

Also, for this time of year, many of the forms associated with your tax return are not available, which can result in your tax return not transmitting until they become available.

Please refer to the following forms availability list.

IRS forms availability table for TurboTax individual (personal) tax products

State forms availability table for TurboTax individual...

If you continue to need assistance, please contact TurboTax support.

What is the TurboTax phone number?
