NJ1040 and supporting Documentation

Wondering if I need to enclose W2 and 1099 DIV and 1099INT with a mailed in NJ1040. Don't think required in the past. Asking now because I did 2 different returns today and on the "instruction page" for mailing in NJ1040, one said to enclose 1099s   and the other one didn't.?.   Not sure why the 2 different sets of instructions.

It's always a good idea to include 1099 and W-2 forms if they report tax withheld, otherwise it is less important. If it is required and you did not do so, the taxing authority will request them from you. It isn't normally an issue since they have a copy of the forms issued to you from the copies submitted to them from your employer, bank, broker, etc...

Include documents that show NJ tax withheld.

Do not staple.
