New Macbook 2024

I have been using Turbotax for 10 years.

I’ve been using a MacBook. My MacBook now cannot be upgraded an operating system past Monterey.

For the 2025 tax year, Turbotax says I cannot install it on my MacBook because my MacBook now can only be upgraded to the Monterey operating system. So I cannot upgrade my operating system any longer.

So I bought a new MacBook which uses Sequoia.

I copied all my Turbotax documents from my old MacBook to my brand new MacBook.

Question: Since I transferred all my turbotax documents to my new MacBook, when I install the 2025 Turbotax software, will it be able to find and import last year’s tax information to the 2025 tax year without a problem?

If you put the tax files into the new Mac, then when you are ready to start your new 2024 return you should be able to transfer the 2023 tax file in.  You will be looking for a file that says .tax2023

You do that transfer at the very beginning before you enter any new information for 2024.
