New home

In September I quit renting and bought a camper. I now live in it full time (in a campground). Can I use this for a tax return?

Hi Mrkdwf,

Thank you for participating in Intuit's TurboTax Ask the Experts Event.  Congratulations on the purchase of your camper!  As long as your camper has the facilities to qualify as a residence you would be able to claim it as your primary residence for tax purposes.  The main facilities required are "bed, bathroom and kitchen".  Therefore if you itemize your deductions you would be able to claim closing costs, mortgage interest and property taxes.

Enjoy the camper and have a great day!
