My 1040 was rejected: error code S1-F1040-080-03

It seems that there is a system issue with Form 1040 - Schedule 1 that is rejected by the IRS.

The rejection code is : S1-F1040-080-03 - Schedule 1 (Form 1040).

To Turbotax: Could you please provide an explanation and when this issue will be resolved?

Just replying to say I got the same error this morning...  the full-on error in the desktop version said it was a processing error that would be corrected on January 31, 2026...  I was wondering if this is an Intuit/Turbotax foul-up or an IRS foul-up... & what are the odds that it'll really be fixed on January 31st?

I m getting the same error (S1-F1040-080-03), but I have checked the specified fields and they do sum to the correct value (All of them except OtherIncomeAmt are zero.) I did notice that OtherIncomeTypeStatement is blank, even though I am filling it in in TurboTax. Could this be the source of the error?

I noticed the same thing... that the only obvious problem is that the OtherIncomeTypeStatement field is blank, even though I filled it in (worksheet confirms that).  But it looks like it's a math error behind the scenes... (if the error description is accurate.

This is a processing error that should be corrected after January 31, 2026, according to the error message you posted above. This was a notification within the TurboTax program.

@DaveF1006 Your link just brings us right back to this post....(?)

Got the same error on Monday Jan 26. It originally said that the error would be fixed on Feb 6. It’s good to see that now they promise to fix it as soon as Jan 31. But I still think we deserve at least a partial refund for the delay due to a turbotax issue.

BTW I am really disappointed in customer support: the ‘expert’ who called me back regarding this issue was absolutely incompetent and unable to provide me with any information, resulting in 30 minutes of my precious time completely wasted…

Yea, lol...thanks for stating the obvious... 😉   I thought perhaps you might've had some different info than what I posted since you posted a 'link', but it turned out the link just went back to my post that you were replying to.  At any rate, in dealing with several of these messages this txyear already... the dates seem to be arbitrary & don't necessary bear on when a solution might exist.

I am in the same boat. Keep checking the program and no change. First I waited on 1099 R to become available and now this. Went to support. They wanted me to pay to speak to an accountant AND the payment form included a tiny print message about agreeing to a 50 dollar a month subscription until you notify them that want to withdraw.

Totally fed up.

We all need to go to their Social Media Account and post about this.  They respond quicker when u do that.  I will try it

Federal was accepted

Accepting wasn't the issue. Originally, for me both fed and state were accepted but then a couple of days later, I received 2 separate emails saying they both were rejected. The S1 1040 080 03 was identified as the issue.

Has anyone refiled to see if it works now? Thanks

I ended up manually making changes and filed new.

This will be the last time I am using TT

I'm curious how you were able to make manual changes?  I'm in the same boat, I keep trying to "fix" the problem (just tried again this morning since it's after "January 31" but obviously nothing is working.  This may be the last year I use TT as well.  Kind of sad because I've used the program for many years but I guess that's they way it goes.
