I have TT Home & Business for my personal taxes; also have TT Business for my S-Corp taxes; both are desktop versions. I created S-Corp W-2s and 1099s but they are now connected to TT H&B when I open it. Tax files are saved in different directories. How can I disconnect these forms from my personal TT and connect them to the S-Corp Business product?
I don't think that is necessary. The W2/1099 reporter is separate from the main Business or H&B programs. I guess each program can open the same .tax2025 file. They don't need to be associated with the return since they don't interact with the program or import the info to the S corp or 1040 returns. You can use either program to create them. Do they also open using the Business program?
I appreciate and understand your answer. And, no the W2s and 1099s do not open in the Business program. It is important to me that all returns associated with the S-Corp can be saved and transitioned to the next accountant without having to share my personal returns.
