more than 35 characters

I'm at the finish line for filing my taxes. Turbo Tax is holding me up because they say the payer address in my Merrill Lynch account is to long (over 35 characters). Do I shorten it or just leave it alone?

Can you shorten it by using an abbreviation --like "St." for "street" or "Ave." for "Avenue"   etc?

The address is 1500 American Boulevard NJ2-150-01-13  Pennington NJ  4129, that underlined portion which is the payer street, Turbo say is too long. maybe I can see if I can abbreviate boulevard.

Try "Blvd." for that.

Do not think the following is part of a street address, try removing this NJ2-150-01-13

Are you trying to fit all of that on one line?  Or two lines?

In fact, the IRS software verifies the data using the payer's EIN (Employer ID Number, otherwise known as Tax ID #]  Fill in abbreviated, as you wish, name such as only Merrill Lynch and an abbreviated address.

It only has one line for the street address.

Guess what there was another box that I had to correct it in. The first showed you what was wrong and the second box was the original one. I was fixing the original one and not the other one. Both had to be the same. I just left the info the same and only abbreviated boulevard.
