Missing text option when filing state return

There are no text options showing up under "Please select your choice below"

You should first clear the cache and cookies It handles many issues that seem nonsensical on a regular basis.  First close your return and follow the steps below to see that you need to do depending on the version of TurboTax you are using:

 

  • If using TurboTax Online: Clear your cache and cookies. See this FAQ, for your particular browser.
    • You can also try using a different browser
  • If using TurboTax Desktop: Please see this FAQ.
    • Make sure you have ran all the updates

Hi, my turbotax desktop is updated but the question answers are still not showing up. Do you have any other suggestions?

Please let us know some more details in order to troubleshoot this issue:

 

  • Which version of the Desktop program are you using? Windows or Mac? 
  • Which state return is involved?
  • Did you encounter a problem with the bank information screen of the federal or any other state return?

hi @MonikaK1,  I see the exact same problem, for turbotax desktop software on Mac for the state of new york. I did not encounter any issues with the bank information screen.

Mac users often report issues with the screen size in certain areas of the program in that the button needed is not showing on the screen. Sometimes scrolling around to the far edges, or dragging out the edges of the file screen, reveals what is missing. Or, you could try attaching another monitor to your Mac.

 

If you have all of the minimum system requirements, you might also try clearing your cache and cookies.  If after trying all of the options mentioned you still have the same problem:

@MonikaK1 clearing cookies is not an option because I'm using the desktop software. Is there no way you can find the missing options on this page which is finalizing the state tax returns for new york after entering the bank information.

I have found no prior reports or investigations in progress on this issue and don't have access to test the New York program on a Mac. Try logging off, restarting your Mac, and logging in again. This resolves some issues. I

One more suggestion: If this question can be located with text on a New York worksheet, answer the question in Forms mode.
