Missing form 1098 from new lender

My mortgage got sold to a terrible lender in September 2023, and I only received the form 1098 from the original lender but none from the new lender. Both the mortgage interest and the property tax numbers are  missing/inaccurate. The new lender's website also doesn't show any available 1098 and their customer service is unreachable (hence, terrible lenders). They already made plenty mistakes on my loan, now I am even not able to request tax documents from them. What do I do and how can I file the tax for 2023?

You can start by telling the Terrible Lender that you would appreciate a 1098 or statement showing the interest you paid in 2023 or you will be forced to contact the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and file a complaint.

Next, you should have gotten monthly statements from the new lender, and the amount of interest paid and the balance of the loan should be reported on the statements.

As a last resort, contact the original lender and see if they can supply the numbers you need based on the information they have for the loan.
