MInt basics - tracking spending without duplicates

I'm curious if Mint is tracking my spending in an inflated manner by tracking transfers I make between accounts and credit card payments as expenditures? For instance, if purchase something on my credit card it shows up as an expense transaction assigned to a category like "shopping." Then I pay my credit card and this payment shows up as an expense transaction assigned to "credit card payment." So that expense is now counted twice on my spending for the month? Similarly if I move $1,000.00 from my checking account to my savings account is the withdrawal from checking tracked as an "expense?" If this is the case do I have to manually exclude transfers and credit card payments from expenditure tracking or can I set up a rule?

Mint support is limited. Have you tried the web page at the link below?

Yes I am spending my morning searching tutorials and searching for an answer using keywords like "tracking expenses" "avoiding duplicates" and not finding anything. I can't find the Mint chat button to ask a Mint staffer. So I thought the community boards could help.....I thought I posted my question to a community board for other customers to answers - did I not?

Yes, you did, but very few Mint users post here and even fewer (probably none) are able to provide technical assistance or otherwise answer questions from other Mint users (almost all of whom post here, themselves, searching for answers to their questions).

You can try Mint Chat:

Your link takes me to the article about using “chat” but no link to the chat. Is it a problem because I’m in Canada?

You do not see the link on that page (in the screenshot below)?
