MA manual update

I am trying to efile my federal and MA state return.  I am having the infinite loop error as discussed in this thread:

https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/tax-topics/help/there-is-an-update-available-for-your-version-of-turbotax-loop-when-e-filing-windows/00/1116299

I have tried manual MA update, but when I try to run the file it says that the version of TurboTax is the wrong version and it wont update.  What is happening?  I have the 2019 version of TurboTax.  Why can't I efile?

I can't get anything to update either. My state or my federal. None of the patches work. I've been using TTX for over 10 years and never had so many issues.

I have been using TT since it first became available. This year's version is so buggy I will likely try another product next year.

Same problem here, message that I need to update, check and told its updated , endless loop.  The patch also tell me I dont have the correct version. Many people complaining about the same issue, and no ones getting replies from TT.

FYI    when I selected to file Fed only, and do state later, it did process the Fed with no issue.

Guess that's the only solution.  File fed with e-file and mail out the state.

The first link is to the patch that has been mentioned which does not recognize an install of TT that has been able to successfully complete a MA state return, but not file it. The patch is faulty and does not work. This should be a top priority for TT to revisit  and fix.

Is it possible for TTX to just a link to the mai_19 folder?

The two links did not work.  I removed MA and it was installed when re-opening Turbotax, but keep getting the update loop just like before.  How hasn't this been fixed yet?

I agree with everyone else this needs an immediate fix when people pay $20 to exile then spend over an hour doing fixes that don't work including shutdown computer and reboot router and modem as well as patches.

Have you tried disabling your anti-virus?

  • The next variable to keep in mind is the antivirus and firewall software programs on your device.
  • Uninstall TurboTax
  • Disable antivirus and firewall software programs before reinstalling.
  • Reinstall TurboTax.
  • Re-enable antivirus and firewall after installing. (You don't have to disable them when using the program itself, only during installation.)

FYI use Internet Explorer or Edge to download the MA manual update.  The setup file then executed and I was able to efile my state taxes.

Apparently after calling support and getting a refund of MA efile no one in MA with a tax due PV Form 1 payment voucher can efile a return bizarrely.  All returns have to be mailed snail mail through the post office.  This prevented updates.  Also beware of payment PO BOX is different on payment voucher and on return, dopes who created return never changed the new address.
