Are you using the Turbo Tax Online or Turbo Tax Desktop?

@Katina S , I am NOT using any browser. I am inside Turbotax Software (for Mac). My browser is not even open. How can I even use different browser inside Turbotax software?

We are experiencing an issue with importing from Chase Bank/Investments. We are working to resolve this issue.

Why am I unable to import from Chase Bank/Investments?

I'm using Turbo Tax Deluxe for Mac 2021. For J.P. Morgan Securities the "Get your identification code" is

not hyperlinked

& therefore cannot download 1099s. When will this be fixed?

We do not have an estimated time frame of when the issue will be resolved. Please check back in a few days for any updates.

@jayjo322 I was able to solve it for myself by using Chase import. I did it under Banking, and when doing chase import my J.P. Morgan Securities account was also an option on top of my savings and checking accounts. I was able to select it there, and pull my stock and dividend 1099.

Genius! You are smarter than the TurboTax Support. Thanks for the help as I had the same issue.

How did you do this? I can not find banking in Turbotax.

@millman131

I think they are referring to "Banking" within the Chase site.

This is a known issue we are currently working to resolve.  You can sign up for updates within the Help Article here

A workaround you can try is within the Importing section in TurboTax, is to try the other Chase Bank institutions to upload your 1099. For example, try Chase Bank versus J.P.Morgan Securities.

Is this problem resolved with Turbo software? I am still having the same problem after 2 weeks.

@limx

This appears to be resolved.  Please see the instructions here on how to force an update within Mac.

This problem still exists for my TurboTax download 2021 for Mac. I tried the update and forced updates and it did not resolve the problems. I cannot get an authentication link for JP Morgan and Chase does not work. The import feature is horrible.

Please try the work around suggested @maximus2 if this still isn't working for you.  If that fails to allow an import, please reach out to us directly using the Help Article here.  This ensures you will get to the correct department as quickly as possible.

This did not work. I am am using Turbo Tax Premier.  Need to import data from JP Morgan securities. I am using MAC.

When you search for chase, only two entries show up.  "Chase Bank" and "Chevy Chase Trust". If you choose Chase Bank you get a pop up window saying not available until Oct 1 2022 and to do manual entries.

Could TurboTax help give clear instructions on how to import JP Morgan securities data.

This work around worked for me:

Login to Turbotax online

Click Wages and Income : as if you are completing your tax return through the online web portal

Click on Dividend and answer yes i have dividend

It should bring you to the screen

Let's import your tax info

From here search J.P : click on J.P Morgan Securities

Don't fill the info of your USER ID and Password here unless you plan to use the online.  Instead click on the now available Hyperlink Get Your Identification Code.

Use this hyperlink to get the code and fill it on your Turbo Tax program.

Hope this works for you

MichelleLO  are you there? It has been 3 weeks since you wrote, "We are working to resolve this issue." regarding the fact that Mac desktop Turbotax software will NOT show a link to get the identification number needed to import JP Morgan 1099-B data. This is the biggest reason I continue to use the software! Please update us. Thanks.

The technical issue has been resolved.  Here are the steps to import your J.P. Morgan 1099-B.

  1. Log into your account
  2. Select Income & Expenses
  3. Scroll down the page to Investment Income
  4. Select Stocks, Cryptocurrency, Mutual Funds...etc
  5. Respond to the questions that appear but you will need your J.P. Morgan Online User ID to access the Identification Code.

Hi.  Can you please confirm which account you logged into?  The only way access my JP Morgan account is via chase.com (which TurboTax indicates won't be resolved until October!).  I don't see an option to select Income & Expenses?  Any additional guidance would be appreciated, as I still cannot resolve this issue.  Thanks!
