itemizing

if itemizing and not taking the standard deduction, does that mean I have to come up with more things to itemize pass the standard deduction amount, correct?  so if my goodwill, and donations, etc.. does not equal standard deduction, then why bother doing this part even though we made donations to charity .

what is standard deduction for married, filing jointly?

The standard deduction for a couple filing jointly is $25,100 for 2021. If you are over 65 or blind, add $1,350 for each instance.

Itemized Deductions will only "help" when they exceed your standard deduction. If you are sure that your itemized deductions do not exceed your standard deduction, then there is no need to fill in these itemized deductions. TurboTax will use the standard deduction.
