Irs transcript

My transcript shows code 846 and a refund date of 2-24-25, but where my refund hasn't moved from the first bar. Why is that?

From what I gathered where’s my refund updates on Thursdays. So tomorrow you should notice the bar move, by the 24th you should have it. In in the same boat

That doesn't quite answer my question though. I looked at my irs transcripts and they have been updated, showing my bank will receive my return by the 24th of this month. My question is why hasn't where is my refund boxes moved to reflect what the transcripts say? I am assuming if we paid the 25 dollars to receive funds 5 days early they are going off the wheres my refund site. The site hasn't updated but my transcript has..

Remember that the “”5 day early” date is based on the date given to you on the IRS refund site—-not the date the TT site shows in your account.   If your refund does not come in five days ahead of the IRS date, they are supposed to cancel the $25 fee.

You need your filing status, your Social Security number and the exact amount  (line 35a of your 2024 Form 1040) of your federal refund to track your Federal refund:

I received my refund today but wherea my refund still doesn't even say approved, it hasn't moved. I received federal and state around 6pm eastern time.

Your transcript is always updated dated before where’s my refund

IRS Transcript can update as many times a day. Where's my refund only updates once a day. Also IRS Transcript is live, so if the IRS is working on your tax return it will reflect same time same day. Like last year my tax return didn't update on where's my refund. Not until I got my refund deposited to my bank account. On my my IRS Transcript it did update at all time. Hope this helps.

I filed with Turbo. My taxes were accepted on 1/17. It's now 2/20 and I still do not have code 846 on my transcript with a date like a majority of other people.

Don't worry about the where's my refund app or website function. It's sometimes lags behind in updating, it means nothing. It gets updated from other parts of the system. Your transcript is the most accurate, up to date representation of what's going on with your account. Focus on that. For example, the where's my refund did not update until after I had my refund last year.

And no, your assumption is wrong. No one you paid money to help prepare your taxes and advance you a refund is going off the where's my refund information. Here's how the up to 5 days early thing works: the IRS sends notifications to Banks overnight on a daily basis telling the banks to expect direct deposits from 0 to 5 days in the future. The funds will paid deposited at 12:01 a.m. on those dates. The people you paid money to, as well as many banks for free, will give you that money as soon as they get that initial notification, and not wait for the funds to actually be deposited because hey, the money is coming from the treasury department and if anybody's reliable, they are. I kid you but that's really kind of how it works.

Let us know if you got yours on the transcript day… I’m on the same boat but my transcript says 02/26, with no update on “where’s my refund”

What I noticed is the where’s my refund portal isn’t always updated, there’s been times where I have received my refund and the portal stays in the first bar. Honestly don’t pay too much attention to it you’ll stress yourself out

The 5 day early thing is a scam,  ours shows transcript of the 24th and today is the 21st... I called turbo tax and they are going to issue it by or before may 3rd as the announced day for anyone with child care credit that didn't process until the pact act lifted

Do you mean March 3?

Transcripts move quicker than the wheres my refund app thing.    They gave us that little bar to look out to keep 90% of us from bogging down their system.    The bar may not even move by the time you get your refund ... if I'm not wrong it updates Thursday

It's still not processed then

So does it mean the bank will get the deposit on the 26th?

To the person that received their refund, what date did your transcript say?

The owner of this post said 2/24 I believe.
my processing date says the 24th as well but I got my 846 code today and it said issued 2/26. Idk which one it should be or what it means exactly if I must say.

Mine says refund issued 2/26 wondering if it will go in before then. Some sites say that it will that it’s just a date that have to issue it by.
