IRS PIN Not Requested when I filed 2024 return

Why wouldn't Turbo Tax ask for my IPP when I filed my return?  I spent 2 days getting the pin and I  wasn't asked for a 6 digit pin... it did ask for a 5 digit pin that carried over from last year....  What can I expect going forward?  Have you not written the IPP into your software or did I miss it?

You missed it...

To enter, edit or delete a 6 digit IP PIN

Click on Federal Taxes (Personal using Home and Business)
Click on Other Tax Situations
Scroll down to Other Return Info
On Identity Protection PIN, click the start button

Or enter ip pin in the Search box located in the upper right of the program screen. Click on Jump to ip pin

So you enter the PIN in a whole different category when you file?  That is craziness.

How would I have known that?  The rep at Turbo Tax needs a refresher course.  She said all was fine until the return was rejected. Thank god for failsafes..

Thank you!

The stupid chatbot search in the desktop app never takes you there.  Thank you for giving the instructions.  Now if it would just let me efile with that number instead of the AGI, which TT obviously did wrong since it's not taking mine from TT from last year.  I remember when TT made doing your taxes easier, I plan to skip it and do without next year due to efile aggrevation.  If only they worked as hard at making a functional product as they do trying to sell extra services.

@thisproductsuxnow The IRS requires that the prior year AGI be entered on the tax return to verify that the return is being filed by who you say you are.  The IRS compares the 2023 AGI and your Social Security number to what they have in their database for the 2023 filings.

The 2023 AGI is on your 2023 Federal tax return, Form 1040 Line 11.

I know chatbot, still not helpful.  I copied and pasted from my TT 2023 return.  AI is not actually that intelligent....

Whoa, are you stating that I needed to include last years AGI as well?  That was not a question asked after the reject for not including the PIN.  Shall I expect another reject for 2024?
