IRS Identify Protection PIN

Why don't you make it easier to enter the IRS Identify PIN by adding it to the Step-by-Step module?  There is no question that asks "Do you have an IRS Identify PIN?  If so, enter it here ______"

Are you using the separate Business program or the personal Desktop program.  I don’t know if or how to enter it into Business.   But for a personal tax return, if the search doesn’t give you a Jump To link you can get to it here,

The 6-digit Identity Protection PIN (IP PIN) is different from the 5-digit e-filing PIN, and is entered in a different place. Here's how to enter your IP PIN in TurboTax if you are e-filing.

  • Click the Federal Taxes tab or Personal (Home & Business)
  • Click "Other Tax Situations."
  • Scroll down to the section "Other Return Info."
  • Click the Start, Update, or Revisit button for "Identity protection PIN."

For security, TurboTax does not show the IP PIN on the printed copy of your return.

Follow the instructions in the TurboTax article How do I add or remove my 6-digit IP PIN? to enter your IP PIN in the correct spot.
