IRS asking to verify Identity

Ok after I wrote the first post, I went back to my read the letter again and it says for the tax year 2021... We haven't filed for 2021 yet. 

 

So someone is committing fraud under my dad's SSN. On the govt website, it says to verify his ID online and indicate that he didn't file and will put the bureau on notice. Hopefully that would work.

I would use the home address even though they sent the letter to his work, the work address will not match his driver's license.     Any questions about the return use the numbers from the return that was filed.   Unless it specifically states from his W-2 or 1099 he received.
