Installation failed. Got the .NET 4.5.2 message. Went to Microsoft. Installed the .NET fix software. Ran it. Went back to TT installer. Failed. Repeated with a boot FAIL

Bought CD. Install failed with .NET 4.5.2 error. Ran the Microsoft fix to 4.6.1. Failed again during test process and sent failure info to Microsoft.  Ran the Microsoft fix to 4.6.1 AGAIN and bypassed the install test. Booted. Install failed AGAIN.

Filed for an extension, figuring that Intuit and Microsoft would get their act together. Here we are in October and I just repeated the entire process above.  IT FAILED AGAIN.

I've used TurboTax for 17 years and never had a problem like this. I'll never use another Intuit product if this persists.

If I were you I'd give up on the CD. It may be faulty and not necessarily a software fail.  Contact Intuit directly and see if they can give you a software download as a replacement.  You'll likely need either the receipt or the identifying number on the CD to prove your purchase.

Use the form at the link below to be assigned a phone number or schedule a callback. The number will not display when they are closed.  This time of year they are open 5AM-5PM Pacific (8AM-8PM Eastern) Mon-Fri, but will also be open both Saturday and Sunday this weekend due to the approaching filing deadline.

,,,,might need to run a ,...forced uninstall first to wipe all TTX files,,,but that's just a guess.

Also...check to make sure you are NOT attempting to install in compatibility mode...that may be setting the install to a windows XP setup...

Also be sure to follow these steps when installing:

You must install using Administrator privilege.
First disconnect from the Internet so you can safely disable your antivirus and firewall software programs.
Close any other open programs.
Insert the CD.  It should start installing automatically.  If it doesn't:

Hold down the Windows+R keys to open the Run window.
Click Browse, and then navigate to the TurboTax CD on your CD/DVD/RW drive (usually Drive D).
    Double-click the setup.exe file.
Click OK to launch the installer.

After installing, be sure to re-enable your antivirus and firewall programs before connecting back up to the Internet.
Reboot (restart) your computer.
Open TurboTax and run the updater.

I have the same problem with this purchased Turbotax 2019 software, always failed with .NET 4.5.2 error message during the installation process  (Never had problems with the previous Turbotax versions), had to file extension manually.  None of the Recommended solutions from Turbo tax website to fix this problem works, also tried all the Microsoft software suggestions not working neither.  Waste huge amount of my time and efforts to try to make it work, STILL nothing works (always failed with .NET 4.5.2 error message during the installation process )

Friends,

Don't bother wasting time trying to "fix" this by re-installing .NET, etc. this is a very old BUG in their software, it will report that regardless on many systems that are perfectly fine, see this thread:

https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/taxes/discussion/windows10-net-4-5-2-framework-verification-tool-can-t-be-found/01/2177654

with a very simple workaround that bypasses that bug.  As expected, they will not fix nor reply/admit 🙂

Good luck.

Nova.
