Importing documents

I realize that if institutions are not a partner, I will have to input information manually.  I guess my question is how does an institution become a partner and if possible can this be addressed. MML is a big institution.

The real question is why doesn't MML partner with Turbotax which is best directed to your broker or MML.  The answer may be the cost. It would have to write computer code each year based on Turbotax specifications for the import file and convert each 1099-B to that format and it would have to devote computer space to store these files. It may also worry about security.
