Import .tax2024 file

To whom it is concerned:

I am preparing to start on tax return for tax year 2025.  I need the .tax2024 file so information can be imported into the 2025 return.  Please advise - thanks!

For your 2024 tax return did you use TurboTax Online or the TurboTax Desktop software?


For your 2025 tax return are you using TurboTax Online or the TurboTax Desktop software?

Hello Champ -

I used the online version for 2024 and plan to use online version for 2025.  Is it possible for the current year online version to import online versions previous years data? Or must I purchase the desktop version?

TurboTax Online for 2025 will automatically transfer the data from your 2024 online tax return when you start your 2025 tax return, provided that you use the same account that you used for 2024.
