IRS Form 8283 Noncash Charitable Contributions for tax year 2024 is estimated to be available for filing using TurboTax on 02/06/2025.
Really frustrating that this keeps getting pushed for a simple form. I have everything ready to file and now I have to wait another two weeks to file and get my refund? That's not ok for a product that I paid for!!
WHAT IS GOING ON RE FORM 8283? Now, app says it will not be available until 2/13/2025 yet you can download and print it from other sources??

Who can we contact about this?
There is no one to contact. The TurboTax developers have indicated that the Form 8283 should be available for filing on 02/13/2025.
Go to this TurboTax website for forms availability - https://form-status.app.intuit.com/tax-forms-availability/formsavailability?albRedirect=true&product=Turbotax_online&bu=cg
Just opened my TT return file and it indicated the form will be available on 2/6/2025. Is it possible that this is an improvement from the previous 2/13/2025? Wish they'd get their s__t together. I really want to file sooner as I'm concerned that the more time it takes the greater the risk of fraud is with all the hackers..... BB
Was also waiting for form 8323. But it looks like we cannot E-File now...
E-File is not available because your tax return includes forms that can't be e-filed. Revisit the Review section to see which forms. Make sure to mail your return by April 15, 2025.
@andrewm9199 Form 8283 is available for filing using TurboTax effective today.
It's 2/5
It says the form is ready to efile on their site which lists when forms are ready , but when you try now it wont let you and says you must mail in a paper copy. Below that it says I cannot efile my state return because I must efile federal first.
Previously you were able to efile and it would print out form 8283 so you could get whatever signature you need and mail that in seperately. That doesnt seem to be the case anymore? Why is this also preventing me from efiling my state returns? Is this just a TurboTax issue or a new IRS mandate? If its just TurboTax I will definitely be getting a refund and going elsewhere forever.
Exactly...it's available but I have to print, sign and mail. Annoying.
Why is it when I search Turbotax forms list it says it is available to e-file but it won't let me efile?

At first it said the former would be ready February 6th. Then it said it would be ready on February 13th. Today it says I can't even e-file but they offer to help you print your return and file by mail. Waste of time and money. I have used TurboTax for years but won't be doing it again
TurboTax won't let me e-file apparently due to Form 8283 requiring an appraiser's signature? I've never had to do this before with similar dollar amounts and I told TurboTax that I don't have an appraiser. Why is it requiring an appraiser now? TurboTax has never prompted me to mail in this form before.
I used form 8283 last year also. I e-filed with TurboTax. They provided a copy of form 8283 which I finished filling out and mailed in. It's not ok that TurboTax said the form would be ready 2/6, then it was 2/13, Now it says I can't e-file. TurboTax took my money then jerked me around for two weeks before they told me I had to file by mail. What did I actually pay for since I know how to do my own taxes without TurboTax. I only use them so I can e-file. I've been using TurboTax for years but I'm not using them again now. They could have told me I couldn't e-file with them two weeks ago and before they asked me to pay for something they can't provide.
Same. Mine said I could not e-file because of form 8283 and had me print and download to mail returns. However, I DO NOT want to mail my returns.
As others have stated, try breaking down your donations to amounts under 5K. New laws requiring signature for donations over 5K have been implemented.
@MarilynG1 Breaking down donations under 5K TOTAL? Or making sure each donation line does not exceed $5K ??
