I thought I had already paid

it would help us to answer if we can if we knew what type of payment you're asking about. 

Paid what? Federal tax, state tax, Turbo Tax fees, estimates, etc? Did you get a letter from the IRS or state saying you still owe? 

Your only proof of payment is your bank statement or credit card showing the payment coming out.  

I thought I had paid for my renewal already

@jfitz1   Paid for the Desktop program renew for next year 2021?  Are you on the Advantage Renew plan?  They haven't charged for 2021 yet.  They are getting ready and sending emails about it and if you need to update your credit card info. You get charged each November for the next year's  program.
