I got an error code 603 message:
"All available activations for that code have been used. Error code: 603"
when I was installing TurboTax 2020 Business on my 4th computer. I purchase the software from Costco. please help.

I don't understand why I got the error code of 603 too and then it says I've used my code on my limit of 5 computers when I haven't.....I've only put it on 2....
You can download your software directly from TurboTax. However, if this does not resolve your issue, please click the link to contact TurboTax customer support.
Go to InstallTurboTax.com.
Set up a TurboTax account if you don't already have one. If you do, sign in. (If you don’t remember your credentials, you can walk through our Account Recovery page to see if you already have an account.)
Enter your license code in the pop up window.
It’s a 16-character combination of letters and numbers (XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX) that can be found on your CD box insert, envelope, or packing slip. (Note: The 2019 product has a 14-character code that looks like this: XXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX)
Select your operating system, and select Get Download.
Download your software and install.
When you get to the Your product is installed, now let's activate it screen, enter your license code in the License code box, and select Continue to complete installation.
Please click I bought the CD, but my computer doesn't have a CD drive to learn more.

I had installed the 2020 TT Deluxe edition that I had bought from Target, on only one computer - my desktop. After having some issues with my desktop, when I was trying to install and activate from my laptop, I got the error code. After waiting for over 30 minutes for an Intuit CS to come online, and talking to her for over 20 minutes, all I got was an email from them showing an activation count of 5. There was no other proof regarding those 5 activations, such as the IP addresses from where those Activations came. Now I am forced to buy another license, paying 50+ dollars. I feel this is a highly unfair treatment of a loyal Intuit customer, such as myself., who has been using TT for many years I hope, Intuit management takes some action to address this to retain their user base. Thanks.
I got the exact same issue. Got it fixed. Software developer at TT can debug it since it is repeatable.
Background:
Spent 4 hours with 5 different TT technical support but no prevail. I flowed the steps that were provided here (remove antivirus, stop firewall, etc.. ) Still asking me for the Licence code and give me error 603. I was going to buy another copy as I had the same issue last year 2019.
Solution:
Remove my saved 2020Tax file from the USB drive and start TT app first then insert the USB with 2020 tax file and it will not ask for License number.

I got an error code 603 (2020 Business) when I tried to open last years return, but I have not installed it on any other computer. It is activeate don this computer, and I just used it about a month ago to check on some info in the return. Whatever Intuit needs for me to prove ownership I will be only to glad to provide. Also, I am the only person who uses this computer, (it's my business records computer) so what gives?
My labtop's hard disk died so I need to reinstall turbot tax 2020 on the new hard disk.
And, I am getting this error code 603 upon activation.

I just opened up TT 2020 on my computer (the 3rd install only), got the error code 603, won't accept the license code. This has worked all of last year on this same computer, suddenly it won't accept the code today. I have spent an unbelievable amount of time on the phone with a support rep. She has told me to contact Costco instead of her, told me I needed to buy the software again, etc. etc. Terrible customer support!!! She is texting with someone else who is guiding her, but really long pauses and answers don't make any sense.

My hard drive failed, and I am in the process of reinstalling software after replacement. I have only used Turbo Tax 4 times on two different computers. When I attempted to install on my new hard drive it gave me an error code 603 and won't allow me to activate the product. I keep the last five years of TurboTax on my computer in case an IRS audit requires additional information/justification. How can I get TurboTax 2020 activated?
I have the same problem. Purchased TT Premier 2022 from a licensed seller and downloaded for 3 installations on my windows 10 computers. On the 4th and last computer it said all activations used, error 603. That's not true, and less than what I paid for, 5 installations, which TT advertises.
Since it gave me this error code it is obviously contacting the TT server and returning this information. So the problem is not on my end and all this baloney about check your router, reboot, blah bah blah is just that, a stall designed to keep you from getting what you paid for. I am also not interested in spending hours on the phone with TT support just to be told I have to buy it again. I don't have time for that, and I already paid.
So if I do not receive resolution from the seller I purchased from I plan to file an FTC complaint against TT for fraudulent selling practices. TT can then deal with that, it is a problem of their own making that they have brought upon themselves. I would encourage others with this problem (seems there are MANY) to do the same thing, as only pressure from the FTC will make them act like the responsible sellers they should be and not some scam outfit trying to gouge consumers out of what they paid for.

I have just submitted a fraud report with the FTC also. I purchased my turbotax home & business program from walmart.com. The seller emailed me the code and I activated it on turbotax.intuit.com's website (in my account) that night.
This was back in October 2022. I downloaded the program and installed it. No problems there, seen it showed up with my other turbotax items.
I go to open my Turbotax Home & Business 2021 program that worked fine a few months ago this evening (1/14/2023) and it wants me to activate... WTF. It took me a minute, but I tracked down the activation code and then I get the "maximum number of activations reached". BULL SH!~ I have only installed this program ONE TIME and ONE TIME only on this computer! TOTAL FRAUDS.

Actually error code 603 apparently happens for no apparent reason. I just attempted to open my 2019 Turbotax and was informed I needed to enter the registration. When I did I got error code 603. I have it loaded on only 2 computers and it was registered on the computer it now is not working on. Apparently the registration can become corrupted. Now I have to find how to get Intuit to get this fixed. Comments here do not seem to cover when then registration count is corrupted.
I've purchased a new computer and I'd like to reinstall all my turbo taxes for years 2022, 2021, 2020, 2019, I already have the KEYS but I got the message all activation keys used.

The issue is Intuit writes garbage software. This is still an issue in 2022 and 2023 versions.
