How to sync my filed version with desktop

I desktop filed my Federal and got a notice that the IRS accepted the return.

Then my HDD crashed. I was able to restore an older (pre-filing, slightly different) .TAX file. (I added some lines and I think I have restored what was filed.)

Of course, the desktop .TAX file says it has not been e-filed yet. I would like to get the IRS acceptance and sync up my desktop .TAX file with the official version.

How do I sync up my latest filed version with my older desktop version?

You cannot.   Unless you made a backup copy of the .tax file after it was accepted, that information is gone.

There's nothing to "sync" per-se. But you can make the .tax2020 file on your computer match exactly what you filed with the IRS. That is, assuming you know the details for an absolute fact.

Simply enter data "EXACTLY" as filed with the IRS. Then accept the option to "print and file" and actually *do* print the tax return so that program will "think" you mailed it. At that point, you're done. But understand there will be no "syncing" with anything online.
