How to import data from new spouse from last years separate returns?

Last year I prepared separate returns for my fiance and myself. This year we got married. So I want to import the data from both separate single returns from last year into a married filing jointly return for this year.

You cannot transfer tax data from two separate data files to a new tax return.  You can only transfer the data from one tax data file for the prior year to the current year when starting a new tax return.

It would be nice if the program could do that for you. Unfortunately, I am fairly certain that only one prior year file can be transferred to the new tax return.

Why did Turbo Tax not answer this question or fix the problem.  I just imported one part of a couple and now cannot import the other so have to start all over again...grrr

I'm having the same issue; seems like it would be a nice feature that might distinguish you from say, an automated form from the IRS with which Intuit is now competing
