Go up to FILE - SAVE AS

In the Desktop version, click on the File menu, choose Save As, then choose the location you want to save your return.  Once you save it in the location you want, it should automatically save there when you close out your return, or choose save.

Upon initial file save, I cannot change the location to where I want to put the file.  Using Monterey.  Any thoughts?

The "Save As" option works when your are explicitly saving a return. However, if you click "Preview" in the printing return screen, the preview PDF file will still be stored in the default save location. How do you change the default location for "Preview"? Thanks!

Which operating system are you using?

If you click Preview Print Copy, the preview copy will open up your PDF program.  Inside your PDF program, you should still have the Save As option under the File Tab. Once selected, you can save the file to the location of your choice.

@MichelleLO Thanks for the suggestion. I see that the suggested steps allow us to save an additional copy to a different directory, but what I wanted to achieve was to prevent the preview PDF to be saved to the default location. The main reason was because the default location happens to have cloud synchronization enabled on my machine, but I don't want the sensitive tax return to be synced. I guess there is probably no way to change the default preview location now, but it would be great if this feature is added!
