If you qualify as Head of Household, when you enter your marital status (single or married filing separately) into MyInfo, and then enter your qualifying dependent, TurboTax will offer HOH as your filing status.
You will only be able to have Head of Household filing status if you have entered a qualifying person as a dependent on your tax return and if you have paid for over one-half the cost to maintain the home.

You don't select the filing status. After you tell TurboTax your marital status as of Dec 31, TurboTax will begin the Head of Household (HoH) interview. Answer the questions and TurboTax will automatically apply the HoH filing status if you qualify. Do I qualify for head of household filing status in 2023?
