If you file your return stipulating to pay for your turbotax product from your federal filing and the discount is not applied at the time of submission they are unable to offer you the credit you are due according to the 50% discount on federal email. Just spent at least 30 minutes on the phone trying to find a solution be it, the credit offered, an upgrade of product/service, as well as a credit for next year's filing and they rejected all ideas. They had no ideas to offer themselves; though did mention that many people were having problems with the email discount today. 3/25/2018
I too cannot take the email offer of "50% discount from 3/23-3/27". I have tried clearing my cookies and all of the above mentioned steps by TurboTaxTMKarisma. Is this a scam by TurboTax? I have been a loyal customer for over 10 years and this is the most frustrating thing I've dealt with in those years!! Why not just have a "special discount code"? I need help!
I had to turn off my browser extension ad-blocker to even be allowed to click the email link (otherwise the window just opened and then immediately disappeared). After that, simply signing it didn't do it for me; I needed to click the link on the bottom right to "Start for free" (or something like that) under the 50% discounted price, and THEN log in from the next screen. Hope this helps others...
