TEACHER EXPENSES

Go to Federal>Deductions and Credits>Employment Expenses>Teacher (Educator) Expenses

Getting "Earlier you told us you have $0 in teacher (educator) expenses, so there's nothing to deduct. You can go back and enter a different amount or keep going."  How do I correct this situation? And where is this done?

To review your entries for the Teacher (Educator) Expenses deduction, please follow these steps:

  1. Click on Deductions and Credits at the top
  2. Scroll down to Employment Expenses and click "Show More"
  3. Click on Start or Revisit next to Teacher (Educator) Expenses and then select Yes
  4. Review your entries for Educator Expenses

There is no "show more" to click.  Even when you enter your educator expenses it says you haven't.  I agree with the original poster.  There seems to be a glitch in the software.  I have never experienced this problem with TT before.  Please advise.  I can't finish my taxes without this.

Try deleting all the teacher educator amounts.

1.  TurboTax will then ask for more information

2.  "Yes" and leave the amounts blank

3.  Continue

4.  TurboTax will ask if you have educator expenses again.

5.  Click "yes"

6.  Re-enter amounts
