How do I contact Intuit support concerning a dealer transferred ev credit programming error using online TurboTax

In order to take a closer look at the situation you described and try to offer a solution or submit it for further investigation by the development team, it would be useful to have a diagnostic copy of your tax data file.  The diagnostic file will not contain personally identifiable information, only numbers related to your tax forms.  

 

If you would like to provide us with the diagnostic file, follow the instructions below and post the token number along with which version of TurboTax you are using (Windows or Mac or Online; Deluxe, Premium, etc.) and what states you are filing in a follow-up thread.

 

If you are using a CD/downloaded version of TurboTax, use these steps:

 

• Select Online at the top of the screen.
• Select Send Tax File to Agent.
• Click OK.
• Post the token number here.

 

Use these steps if you are using TurboTax Online:

 

• Sign in to your account and be sure you are in your tax return.
• Select Tax Tools in the menu to the left.
• Select Tools.
• Select Share my file with agent.
• A pop-up message will appear, select OK to send the sanitized diagnostic copy to us.
• Post the token number here.

I transferred my EV tax credit to dealer expecting my AGI to be below the threshold, but my AGI ended up being $6000 more than the max limit. So I owe $7500. Turbotax doesn't give the option to repay this through completing form 8936 and Schedule A (Form 8936).

Once your return has been processed and you've received your refund (or your payment has posted), you can Amend Your Return to make changes in the EV Credit section.
