how do I change my efile pin

We file jointly. IRS accepted my 5 digit self-assigned PIN but not my wife's. She needs to provide the IRS assigned 6 digit PIN now. Where / how do I change this?

IDENTITY PIN

If you have a 6 digit PIN issued to you by the IRS you need to enter it in order to e-file.  Go to Federal>Other Tax Situations>Other Return Info>Identity Protection PIN and enter the six-digit PIN.

No.  what I asked
"We file jointly. IRS accepted my 5 digit self-assigned PIN but not my wife's. She needs to provide the IRS assigned 6 digit PIN now. Where / how do I change this?"

Apparenty once you select self-assigned PIN, Turbotak will not allow you to enter a 6 digit PIN.  Won't take anything longer than 5 digits

Are you trying to enter it here?    The 6-digit Identity Protection PIN (IP PIN) is different from the 5-digit e-filing PIN, and is entered in a different place. Here's how to enter your IP PIN in TurboTax if you are e-filing.

  • Click the Federal Taxes tab or Personal (Home & Business)
  • Click "Other Tax Situations."
  • Scroll down to the section "Other Return Info."
  • Click the Start, Update, or Revisit button for "Identity protection PIN."

For security, TurboTax does not show the IP PIN on the printed copy of your return.
