how did my amended return switch like this?

initially they said 3,000$, now its 204$?

Or does it just say that because that was my original refund?

Keep in mind that when you are amending, the refund tracker monitors the difference from your original filing to the amended return. It does not include any original refund or balance due. If you are claiming any previously unclaimed credits, you will see the difference as an additional refund amount.

You will still get the first original refund.  Then the amended return is only for the difference you get back or owe.  If you owe on the amended return you need to include a check when you mail the 1040X amended return.

You should not amend until you get the first refund, in case the IRS changes your return.

Yeah it additionally said 3200-3300, then after went to 3069 or whatever. So I'm assuming i'll still be getting the 3k+ and it just deducted the 204 I originally got off of it.

Thanks much!
