How can I fix the windows installer with error 65535?

I am running Windows 10.  I can't install TurboTax 2017 because an error occurs every time I try,  I get Error 65535.  In have tried everything I know with no luck.  This is a new computer (Lenovo) and I need my previous records to complete 2018.

None of their solutions will work, nor are they intended to do anything but steal your time and run you around in circles.  They have been sabotaged by the Indian programmers they hired so the corporate fat cats could walk off with eight figure salaries. A Google search for the error message resulted in multiple different web pages having the same cover text and offering to "fix" the problem for money and remote access to your computer.  Are you starting to see the pattern now?  Another cynical corrupt corporation.

None of these steps work. No file corruption (checked with sfc /scannow) stuck and frustrated.
