If your return is still in progress and has not been efiled (or registered for the Free Edition), you can use the Clear and Start Over feature in TurboTax to downgrade your version.

Here is a link that explains how to downgrade your return in TurboTax online.

But what if you upgraded to Live and DO NOT use it? If you don't schedule live support, paying for live seems unfair. I only clicked that button to ask a question because the system is bugging out making obvious bad estimates and misleading miscalculations. Not happy with TurboTax this year.

You can try to remove Turbo Tax Live.  There are 2 different ways to remove Live depending on how you added it

You received a TurboTax email giving you the reason for the rejection.  What does it say?

@TrudyL   You have added on to a very post.  The links might be out of date and there are new links.   What are you trying to do?

This is a 5.5-year-old thread, so that link by user

cameaf

from 5 years ago above no longer works.  It's not uncommon for links in old threads not to work.   If you are in Online TurboTax and want to downgrade, try this one.   Be aware that if you have info in your return that requires Schedules 1-3 you won't be able to use Free Edition.   If you explain your situation more, someone may be able to comment further.

That page talks about options on the left of the screen that do not exist. At least in the situation I'm in. I tried out a "coupon" I got because I'm an Etsy seller, but did not realize it was going to charge me nearly twice as much as last year. But now I can't find anything related to how to roll back/downgrade.

there is no "downgrade" button, there is no "switch products" button.

Are you using the Online version or did you install the Desktop program?  The Desktop program has the menu going across the top in a blue bar.  What version does it say , like Deluxe or Premier or Premium or Home & Business?
