Frustrating / Feedback: Can't paste numbers from Excel into TT Desktop. Workaround? Feedback fix?

If I paste a currency value from Excel Desktop like "$38,288.82" into TT Desktop, it won't go.  Nothing happens.  I have to first change the cell format to "text" and get "38288.82", then I can paste.

Is there a way to cut & paste without that extra step of formatting as plain text first?

Please do not tell me that TT won't accept the symbols: I know.  See above.

The numeric fields in TurboTax will Only accept numbers, not any type of character.

If you are trying to paste into the forms  these are generally text -- try pasting  numbers  into the worksheets -- that should work

try formating  the cells as numbers without the $ sign.

That's not helpful.  Please read the question again.

This frustrates me every time as well.

Intuit, please fix this obvious bug in your software.

When pasting a cell from excel with currency symbols in it, you should just ignore them!
