Everyone is being asked this question since TurboTax does not know if the user was one who received these advances from the IRS in 2021.
Enter a 0 (zero) when asked to enter a number on the Schedule 8812. This will correct the issue and remove the Schedule 8812 from your tax return so that you can file the return.
You don't pass by it ... simply answer the question as asked ... how much advance CTC payments did you get ? If you got none simply enter a zero to move on.
Ok, I just re-read your answer. And I'm now understanding what you were saying. Your indicating that schedule 8812 will be removed from my tax return. So it wont be sent to the IRS when its e-filed. When I had clicked onto the "Forms" from the upper right of the turbo tax. It would open up window of "Forms in my return". So when I noticed the 8812 was still listed. Thats why I thought it didn't work.
I select Delete form on the bottom and the form will not delete. The form is causing an error when the program runs the error check. I'm stuck !!

Do Not try and delete the Schedule 8812. It will not be included with the 2021 tax return if you enter 0 for the advance child tax credit received and you do Not have any dependents on your tax return.
I cannot transmit my e file because of form 8812 i am single and no children and even entering zeroes will not transmit

I didn't fill out anything on this form (8812)! How do I cancel this out so I can e-file?? I don't have any reason 4 this form. Yet...it is on my return. ?
