Form 1310

I am the court-appointed representative for mom's estate. I also have a death certificate. Can't figure out how to fill out Form 1310.  Since I am not filing an amended return or a Form 834 (since I am filing for income tax, but what this form??) then I guess that I should check Line C "person other than A or B" in Part I.

The Turbo Tax interview screen asks if I have death certificate. Which I do.

On 2A when asked if a court has appointed a personal representative -- I say "yes" because the court has done so. However, this creates a problem with Turbo Tax.   I get an error screen that says "2A No must be no when valid proof of death is in possession."

Can someone help me understand this?  Turbo Tax has a problem with me saying that I am a personal representative and at the same time, in possession of a death certificate.

As a court appointed personal rep filing an original return for the decedent you should not need to file a 1310.

Thank you! Yes, I now see this in IRS Publication 559 that says to just attach my court issued Letters of Appointment.  No Form 1310.
