Form 1095-A

Hello,

Do I need to complete a Form 1095-A if I claimed my daughter this year but per court order her father is the one who carries the health insurance and pays for it not me? So I wouldn’t have the information.

No. you typically do not need to complete Form 1095-A if you did not directly receive health insurance coverage through the Marketplace, even if you claimed your daughter as a dependent on your tax return. Her father would report the 1095 A on his return and indicate that he shares the policy with someone else, even though they weren't his dependent.

Thank you for this feedback.
I  received a rejection for my taxes stating I need to file a Form 1095-A. Would I just hit the option I don’t have one?

Yes, if you should indicate you do not have a Form 1095-A for your tax return.  Be sure to answer the question about whether you had health insurance all year.  Use this link to go directly to the entry page. Where do I enter by 1095-A?
